Jamie will be on stage again, performing as part of PlayWriteGirl, a benefit to be held on Sunday, May 3 at the Pasadena Playhouse.

The group will perform works written earlier that day by more than 65 teen girls, led by guest writers and mentors including Robin Swicord, Gina Prince-Bythewood, Jennifer Crittenden, Martha Williamson, Jule Selbo, Laural Meade, and Jennie Webb.

The event begins with a short reception and silent auction on the plaza at 4:30 pm, followed by a performance at 6 pm and a post-performance reception with the cast.

t  March 1, 2009 - From Backstage.com - Ask An ActorDo you ever have stage fright, and if so, how do you work with it?

JamesDenton - Los Angeles
Desperate Housewives, A Streetcar Named Desire

I love the adrenaline. That's one of the reasons why I love theatre. I love when things go wrong. I've cut myself onstage and just been bleeding profusely. I've gagged on chewing tobacco onstage in a Western, where you thought you were going to choke to death. Those kinds of things, where your heart just starts pounding. Or somebody doesn't make their entrance. All of those things are so great.

But as far as stage fright and nerves? I think that's what drew me to acting. I don't fight it. I don't say I don't have it, because I play in a band now -- called Band From TV, a charity band -- and I've never been a musician, and I've had a couple of gigs where I'm really out of my element and I've thought, "So this is what it's like to be nervous." And I realized that I don't have that in theatre. I don't have it in acting. You get a little adrenaline, but I never have the sweats. But in music I have, but that's because I'm such a fish out of water.

t  October 22, 2008 - (From SunHerald.com) Band From TV is the star-studded charity cover band created by Greg Grunberg (NBC's Heroes) and consists of some of TV's biggest names including James Denton (ABC's Desperate Housewives), Jesse Spencer (Fox's House), Adrian Pasdar (NBC's Heroes) and Bob Guiney (TLC's Date My House). Other celebrities that have joined Band From TV on stage include Hugh Laurie (Fox's House), Teri Hatcher (ABC's Desperate Housewives), Hayden Panettiere (NBC's Heroes), Jorge Garcia (ABC's Lost), Zach Levi (NBC's Chuck) and more. Not just your average celebrity band, Band From TV founded The Band From TV Global Charity Trust which donates proceeds from their performances for several incredibly worthwhile charities including the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Pediatric Epilepsy Project, Save the Children, and The Art of Elysium. Every penny that Band From TV earns goes to charity!

In this exciting strategic alliance, Band From TV has named ExpressJet's Corporate Aviation Division as their official private charter provider. ExpressJet will fly the band to concerts nationwide ensuring Band From TV's continued success at raising awareness and funding for the charities that benefit from The Band From TV Global Charity Trust. As founder Greg Grunberg states, "We are incredibly grateful to ExpressJet for providing transportation for our band all throughout America. All of the money saved from ExpressJet providing this service goes straight to the charities and we are beyond thankful." Echoes ExpressJet's Sr. Manager of Marketing, John Yeng, "We are proud to associate our expertise in aviation with the talented actors and musicians of Band From TV. We couldn't be happier to do our part in raising money for the very worthy charities that each celebrity has chosen."

t  October 13, 2008 - See Jamie on stage!  From October 18 through November 23, Jamie is going to be appearing in
the play "How Cissy Grew", which will be staged at the El Portal
theater in North Hollywood.  Jamie will be playing opposite his real-life wife, Erin O'Brien.

According to the press release, this is what "How Cissy Grew" is about: "In West Virginia, a baby girl named Cissy is abducted, and then swiftly returned to her parents.  While she has no memory of those few terrible days, their ramifications haunt her family for the next twenty years.  While her parents take sides in a battle that can't be won, Cissy becomes a sexually promiscuous, fearless and sometimes callous young woman with a penchant for her mom's stash and innocent boys.  By turns tough and fragile, smart and foolhardy, savvy and naïve, Cissy is a complicated sole … but is she a creation of a long-ago tragedy, or of her parents' inability to cope?"

The El Portal Forum Theatre is located at 5269 Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood, CA.  More information and tickets are available by CLICKING HERE.

t  August, 2008 - If you are a James Denton fan, then I think you'll have to agree that the season 4 finale of Desperate Housewives SUCKED.   Heaven only knows how Marc Cherry plans to explain Mike's absence from Susan's life again, and I don't particularly care to know what he's thinking.  What I do care about is that Jamie continues to get the same amount of time on the air as all of the other male cast members.

Toward that end, Jamie's on-line fan group will be writing to both Mr. Cherry and ABC all year long, letting them know that the only reason they've been tuning in to watch Desperate Housewives has been because of Jamie.  All of the execs in the entertainment industry have the attention span of a gnat, so they constantly need to be reminded that fans can, and will, change channels, if they aren't happy with what they're seeing.  Jamie's first on-line fan club, will be doing that, all year long - reminding ABC and Marc Cherry that they watch Desperate Housewives because they want to see Jamie.  Naturally, that group is hoping that all Jamie fans who come to his website will join in the effort.

t  Since the spammers have already found my James Denton.com e-mail address, I'm guessing they've found Jamie's, too. Might be closing the barn door after the horse is already out, but I've inserted this into the e-mail addresses on the site: (remove this before sending)    When using the links to access our e-mail addresses, be sure to take out that entire phrase, including the spaces and parentheses, before sending e-mails.   Jamie's e-mail addy is Jamie Denton (one word, without the space) @James Denton (again, no space) .com    Mine is easier - Sandi @ JamesDenton.com, without the spaces.
